We visited Butlins for a few days with my Sister who was down from Liverpool for the weekend, we thought it would be a nice little break as my sister who lives near by was pregnant, I had my little monster in toe and my sister from liverpool was happy to go with the flow. I hadn't been since i was a kid sos thought it would be a great blast from the past!
We stayed in the wave hotel, it worked out as about £600 for 2x rooms..they were modern and well looked after, i'm guessing newly renovated as everything looked brand new....Cass stayed in one of the bunks, they had little TV's he absoloutly loved this!
It was a hot summers weekend, even though cass wasnt tall enought for most of the rides there was a lot for him to do, softplay, the pool, lovely grounds and parks, a circus, it was a nice relaxing break for a catch up, where the adults could relax!
The swimming pool was my favourite, it hasn't been updated since I visited in the 90's, the smell, the atmosphere and the look took me right back to that time, a lovely hit of nostalgia was very uplifting, everything is in good working order, well kept and safe...they actually had a 90's party going on in the pool at the time, so I was ecstatic! Cass and I had a great time on the big white slide, he wanted to go again and again! Being the summer holidays...almost, it was very very busy, so we didn't stay long, but I would go back just for the pool!
You have the option to include food in the price, we didn't for flexibility, we went to one of he premium buffet restaurants, at £17 per adult it was a little steep, but the food was very high quality, and there was everything you could think of!
A great little break, I will go back with Win and Cass soon, lots for kids to do, safe, easy and relaxing...a little pricey, as you could go abroad for the same sort of price, but good fun and easy netherth less.
